Denial

Video performance in collaboration with Ann Whitehurst.

Denial shows a straight shot of Whitehurst filmed in her home in Stoke on Trent, continually coming towards and receding from the camera in a powered chair. She doesn't speak on screen but we hear a voice asking a series of questions but there is no reply.

The asks fundamental questions on disability/ability, the power relationships of interviewer and interviewer as we reveal who really how they are nuanced and shift.
